The station opened in 1869 as part of the West Cheshire Railway’s line from Northwich to Helsby & Alvanley. The West Cheshire Railway formed part of the Cheshire Lines Committee.
The main station building on the Manchester bound platform is now a successful art gallery and picture framing business.
A short walk from Cuddington station takes you to the Whitegate Way, a scenic six mile walk following the course of the old railway line through Whitegate to Winsford & Over. This line opened in 1870 and closed and opened to passengers several times, but freight was carried throughout before the line finally closed in 1967.
Cuddington Station has won a number of awards in the Cheshire Best Kept Station Competition.
